BiographyLos Angeles, CA – Sustain has announced the release of its new single “Where Are We Going?” The song hails the upcoming spring release of the band’s album “Scare Tactics.” The group constructs its music out of a pool of varied influences that represents the convergence of classic rock influences, psychedelia, stoner rock and contemporary hard rock, as illustrated by “Where Are We Going?” The song is a fusion of hard rock crunch, solid melodicism, high-powered energy and crisp clean vocals. Driven by captivating grooves, thick guitar riffs and observant, intelligent lyrics, “Where Are We Going?” provides a critique of the culture of fear that dominates modern life. The song is representative of Sustain's new album both with its hard rock stoner hooks and its compelling, socially aware lyrics. Sustain members Matt Guider and Tyler Cole first hooked up in high school, playing together and exploring their mutual passion for music. What started as “jamming” soon grew into something more serious and the two began to collaborate on writing their own music. In their senior year, they teamed up with bassist Chris Coleman via the school’s jazz band. That left them with one slot to fill to complete the lineup – meet Travis Moore. Sustain is slated to play a series of acoustic tours – demonstrating the versatility of the band’s songs – throughout Spring 2008. The group will make a run along the west coast and also visit New York. Summer will bring a national tour.
